Appreciation [uh-pree-shee-ey-shuh n]
No child ever fully appreciates the contributions, sacrifices and opportunity costs that their parents faced for their sake until they have a child of their own. That is fine, but even without a full appreciation every child should have a fundamental appreciation for what their parents (or other guardians) do for them. It is rare to have a person work as hard or as much for another person as most parents do for their children. As an adult, you will never fully know what is within you until you start to appreciate what your parents went through and appreciate what your parents did for you. When you get out into the adult world, that same appreciation for the work that your parents applied in raising you should be applied to your life because without them there is no you.
